OUR BELIEFS

What We Believe
… from the “Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church”… “The Webster Methodist Church is a part of the church universal, which is one Body in Christ. This Church acknowledges that all persons are of sacred worth. All persons without regard to race, color, national origin, status or economic condition, shall be eligible to attend its worship services, participate in its programs, receive sacraments, upon baptism be admitted as baptized members, and upon taking vows declaring the Christian faith, become professing members in any local church in the connection.’… The United Methodist church proclaims the value of each person as a unique child of God and commits itself to the healing and wholeness of all persons…. As part of the church universal, The United Methodist Church believes that the Lord of the church is calling Christians everywhere to strive toward unity; and therefore it will seek, and work for, unity at all levels of church life…”

Our Faith
[We] believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; hes ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. [We] believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic (*universal) church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.”
